Sumeyya Bascobanlar / Teacher of Türkiyem Secondary School

Hello everyone my name is Sümeyya. I’m an English teacher. I really enjoy teaching and learning languages. I can fluently speak German, English and Turkish. I have taken part in many Erasmus + projects since my University years. I love travelling thus; I have been to 12 countries so far. I love learning about different cultures, discovering new places, actively using the languages I am learning. I’m interested in environmental issues, animal rights and human rights. My students and I are happy to be a part of this project. 

I work at Türkiyem Secondary School in Malatya which is located at the eastern part of Türkiye. Our students’ age range is 10 to 14 years. We have a different system from most of Turkish schools. In our school “Multi Foreign Language Model” education system is applied that means the 5th grade students have 14 hours English and 2 hours German lessons. We aim to improve our students’ social skills and integrate them with technology.
